Pedra da Gávea

Located between São Conrado and Barra da Tijuca, Pedra da Gávea is a granite rock that rises 842 meters above sea level. Very easy to identify because it is straight up. Is behind the hill two brothers when you look from zona sul (Ipanema, Leblon) Originally used as a look out for ships in the Atlantic, it's now popular with rock climbers and those who have a good shape to go all the way up in a trail! The view is a great reward.
