Nosso encontro é de segunda a sexta-feira, às 9:30 da manhã, em frente ao Theatro Municipal.

Faça chuva ou faça sol.

Em três idiomas com três guias (um para cada idioma): inglês, português e espanhol.

Não esqueça: filtro solar, sapatos confortáveis, roupas leves, boné (ou similar) e água.

Pedra do sal (Stone Salt)

"At this place the salt was unloaded from the ships who docked nearby. Afterwards it became the meeting point of samba groups who worked as longshoremen."



This place is historical and makes history in samba. 
Located at the Praça Mauá (Maua square).The exactly location it is on Conceição Hill. In front of the docks , where it was drained salt at the time and was used as a bargaining chip .

The salt stone name is the same until today. It was also a point of exchange and sale of slaves brought by ship. This is why this part of the region it is known as "Little Africa" ("Pequena África").

Later it housed milder activities like samba done by longshoremen after work. Today, samba attracts everybody. It is one of the best samba circles in the city.

It was on the staircase of Stone Salt that was born samba carioca and old ranches carnival as the street blocks like Sereias (mermaids) and some exists until nowadays as Escravos da Mauá (slaves from Maua) for example. 

Nowadays still have the fun samba circles in Stone Salt.

During summer, people usually get there straight from work and many just go to the center especially for this event. 

Music is the finest cream of samba from new compositions to the national classics. 

So if you like good music, cold beer and somewhere open air and for free, don't loose the chance to go! Best days to go are on Mondays and Fridays, very enjoyable. Don’t miss the opportunity to check carioca culture very close.

But be careful with the rain : the place is open and only the musicians are under canvas . The event does not happen under heavy rain .

Christ the Redeemer is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Cristo Redentor statue in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, is photographed by thousands each year. Corcovado means "hunchback" is the name of the mountain. The Corcovado Train is the oldest tourist ride in the country. The statue of Christ the Redeemer pays homage to Rio's religiosity. Copacabana and Leme beach

Copacabana and Leme Beach

                  One of the most famous beaches in the world, Copacabana has the mountains and city behind it and is definitely Rio. 

Sit at one of the many restaurants along the beachfront to enjoy a caipirinha with many different flavors, or take a stroll on the famous and often imitated Burle Marx designed sidewalks on the 4 kilometers of the beach. A perfect place to eat, drink, relax and people watch.

A symbol of the most luxurious hotel is the Copacabana palace who received many celebrities as Lady Di, King George, Brigitte Bardot, Theodore Roosevelt and others.

As in Ipanema beach, each group stakes out their stretch of sand. Leme is a mix of older residents and favela kids, while the area between the Copacabana Palace Hotel and Rua Fernando Mendes is the gay and transvestite section, easily recognized…




Also Copacabana is where happen the most famous and beautiful new years of the planet! Amazing 15 minutes of fireworks and more than 2 million people together in the beach, most of them wearing white,  can you imagine? Do you kow the best parties in Rio for new years? Ask me about it!!!!

Rio Free Walking Tour just started the last 28/10/2013!

We are very happy to start this job.

We are glad to give some information from our historical and cultural city and country.

Thank you for all that attended our first tour and welcome to Rio de Janeiro if you didn't do the tour yet!

The tour happen every day, rain or sun, @ 9:30 in front of the Municipal Theatre @ cinelandia subway station. Will be a nice time together where you can meet people and learn more about this Marvelous city!

Pão de Açúcar - Sugar Loaf Mountain

One of Rio's most famous landmarks, it's one of the best places to have a great city view, sea and mountain ranges. 

Take the funicular ride up for a glorious view of the Guanabara Bay, Botafogo beach to the North and Copacabana to the South, with the city spread in between. Be sure to check out the old open-air cable car on display that was used in the '30s. There are vendors selling refreshments and food. Ask me about the secret path, maybe i can take you there!
